"Garantovano!": Support for the parents of "early birds"
Preterm birth is the tough milestone which requires special attention and support. You face the challenge and we are here for you, to provide you with practical answers and information support. The questions, frequently concerning the parents of "early birds" – starting from the cost of medical care and through the rights for free of charge services – will get answered in the framework of the "Garantovano" project. We will help understand, which medical services are guaranteed by the government and how one can get access to the free of charge medical care. Childbirth, NICU, follow-up – all these are free of charge thanks to the healthcare guarantee packages of the National Healthcare Service of Ukraine.
What is the purpose of this project?
We often receive questions from parents: «Is this medication free of charge?», «Which services are guaranteed by the government?», «How can I dispute the bill?». In the framework of this project we are sharing the information about the healthcare guarantee packages and help figure out which free of charge services the parents are entitled to obtain.

The rights and opportunities for parents
Know your rights! In case you have become the parents of prematurely born child, it is important to know your rights and opportunities provided by the government to support you and your baby. In case you are provided with the bill for the services, which are supposed to be free of charge, you are entitled to dispute it. We will share with you the mechanics of dispute process and your rights as a patient.

In 2024 there are 44 healthcare packages. The planned budget of the Program of healthcare guarantees is almost 159 billion UAH. Including 5,2 billion UAH for medications and medical products reimbursement.
How to file a complaint?
- Via a form on a web-site or on the toll-free number 16-77 and it will be logged by the hotline operator;
- By sending e-mail to info@nszu.gov.ua or by regular mail (19, Stepana Bandery avenue, Kyiv, 04073);
- By writing a claim at the personal visit.
